Western Warming, California Vehicle Emissions, and More OC Register Op-Eds

This week, the theme was global climate change. Articles discussed include the increase in temperatures in the Western United States, the Air Resources Board compromise on low-emissions vehicles, and Landsbaum op-eds about shortening Japanese baseball games to reduce emissions and one scientist's take on IPCC climate models.

Unfortunately, this will be the last episode of the DiscussAnt for the foreseeable future. It was a fun ride while it lasted, but the time has come to move on to bigger and better things. For all who listened to this auditory experiment, thank you and remember to keep an open mind when analyzing today's issues.

This week was a particularly racy one in which I discussed former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer's marital infidelity with high-priced prostitute Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the controversial new anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim video from the Netherlands and how to deal with illiberal views, and the absurd op-eds of OC Register Christian crusader Mark Landsbaum on the issue of climate change.

Children Left Behind, Ineffective Tax Cuts, Hamas Strikes Again, and Clemens the Liar

This week's show featured highly contentious articles about how teenagers are ignorant of history and literature and the failure of No Child Left Behind/standardized testing, a new poll showing that people will likely spend their tax rebates on paying down their debt or put the money into savings, not on stimulating the economy through the purchasing of American goods, the latest exchange between Israelis and Palestinians and how peace cannot be achieved without a fundamental change in mindset of the Palestinian people, and finally, the developing saga involving Roger Clemens' steroid use and his inability to tell the truth.

Texas Dem Debate, Obama Comedown Syndrome, McCain Controversy, Gaza Saga, and Cuba Libre!

This week revolved around the Texas Democratic debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, David Brooks' diagnosis of Obama supporters as being afflicted with "Obama Comedown Syndrome," the New York Times-led controversy surrounding Republican presidential front runner John McCain and a female lobbyist, Egypt closing the border with Gaza and implications for peace, and a facebook comment on ending the trade embargo with Cuba.

This week's introduction featured music by Liam Finn and, as always, Mirrortest.

Romney's Ramblings, Stimulus Package Idiocy, and Racist Superbowl Ads

This week I ripped into Mitt Romney's less-than-graceful exit from the presidential race, examined how the stimulus package does nothing to help the poor but pay off some monthly bills, and how this Superbowl's worst ads were racist cartoons launched by Salesgenie.com, approved by parent company InfoUSA's CEO Vinod Gupta.

The GOP Debate, Generation Q, Universal Health Care, and Obama and the Jewish Vote

Due to a technical difficulty, the podcast will not be offered this week. It's sad to think that the show is doomed to float in space for eternity, but alas, there will be many more great shows ahead. This past week I talked about highlights from the Republican debate in Florida, the charge that the youth of America are narcissistic and lack the ability to mobilize around serious issues, why conservatives can't stand universal health care and how their view is unpatriotic, undemocratic, and heartless, and the controversy surrounding Barack Obama and Jewish voters.

The Start of Something Big

I discussed the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, the plight of Hillary Clinton being considered as a woman before a candidate, and Obama and the "Polling Fiasco," which may have stirred up debate about race and politics.
